Sweers Selling 41-Foot MTI Raceboat

Getting a fresh start in the New Year, Randy Sweers of Pompano Beach-headquartered FB Marine Group has put his 41-foot MTI raceboat up for sale. The veteran offshore racer has campaigned the carbon fiber canopied catamaran, which was built in 2011, in the Super Boat International Superboat class under various sponsor banners—most recently with backing from MGI Digital and Konica Minolta.

Aa previously reported on speedonthewater.com, Sweers isn’t exiting the sport. He’s simply changing classes. This season, he’ll throttle a 32-foot Doug Wright catamaran, the former FJ Propeller boat, in the twin-outboard-engine canopied class with driver Brian Marquardt of Lumbarton Offroad.

“I started in the Stock class back in 1995 and had a great time racing with Brian in Key West this past year,” said Sweers in the previous speedonthewater.com news story. “So we’re planning on running together in that class for the 2019 season.”

The MTI catamaran, which features a safety cell, is being offered with its 2007 International 4700 Hauler, 53-foot Dorsey race support trailer and MYCO flat trailer.

“This is one of safest and fastest boats in Superboat class,” said Sweers. “It also can be used as a four-seat poker run boat.”
