Waves and Wheels Expands to New On-Water Lake of the Ozarks Location

Roughly six months after Waves and Wheels completed an expansion on its facility in Osage Beach, Mo., owner Justin Wagner closed a deal this week on the company’s new on-water property that is going to be the future home of Waves and Wheels and its sister company, Bluave Marine Audio.

According to Wagner, who founded Waves and Wheels in 2001, the 27,000-square-foot former Marina 44 facility located at mile marker 26 on Lake of the Ozarks is going to be the perfect place to continue to grow the company, which specializes in upgrading boats (as well as tow rigs, off-road vehicles and other toys with wheels) through audio, visual and interior customization.

“We’re going to call it The Boardwalk at Waves and Wheels,” Wagner said. “We started cleaning it up this week and rigging the facility with cameras and security equipment. Beginning immediately, we’re offering covered rack storage. In fact, some of our clients have already locked in winter storage with us. Then, over the next three to four months, we’ll move everything over and start settling in.

“The building is in great shape—it’s actually overbuilt—it just needs a little attention,” he added. “We’ve got tons of ideas already, but we’re going to have to take it in phases. In the first phase we’re going to enclose 140 feet of the high-rise building and create an identical layout to our existing shop that we finished earlier this year. We’re also going to construct a new 30-foot-wide launch ramp and improve and expand the boat slips.”

Complete with a boardwalk-looking logo, Wagner hopes the new facility improves the efficiency and service offered by Waves and Wheels.

Wagner, who is likely to have a smile on his face over the next several months, also has plans to create a state-of-the-art showroom where clients can peruse sections dedicated to audio equipment, flooring, lighting, electronics, gauges, upholstery, seating and more.

“I can’t wait to get to work on the showroom because we’re going to have enough room to display literally every feature, service and product we offer,” Wagner said. “We’re also going to have a design conference center upstairs where we can talk things over, look at different concepts and enjoy a nice view of the lake.

“This property is a blessing,” he continued. “Our whole team is ecstatic about it. I really think it’s going to help our efficiency and our service, especially because we can get around the lake faster by boat.”

He also thinks customers are going to appreciate being able to drop off their boats at the shop by water. And of course, being the die-hard boater he is, Wagner believes the property could open up more doors for the business not to mention give him more opportunities to get on the water.

“The timing to make this move was perfect,” Wagner said, adding that he has yet to determine his plans for the current facility that he owns along Highway 54. “The growth of the Bluave Marine Audio product line is doing better than I expected and this is the busiest Fall we’ve ever had at Waves and Wheels. We’re completely full at the shop so the additional 10,000 square feet of space at the new building is definitely going to help.”

Wagner is obviously looking forward to the next chapter of Waves and Wheels, and we’re looking forward to keeping tabs on the progress of The Boardwalk at Waves and Wheels.
