Wozencraft Improving Insurance Experience, Planning Big 2019 Tour

When I caught up with Devin Wozencraft during the Miami International Boat Show last week, it was only for a minute or so at a time; in fact, one “visit” was just a wave from the dock between the new Donzi Marine 44-foot quad-outboard catamaran and the Victory Team 32-foot sport cat. Of course that wasn’t enough time to get the lowdown on the updated Wozencraft Insurance website, not to mention the owner’s extensive travel plans for 2019, so I gave him a call this week.

The owner of a 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing OptiMax 300XS engines that he campaigned extensively around the country in 2018—speedonthewater.com followed his adventures and plans to do the same thing this year with another Wozencraft World Tour Photo Gallery series—Wozencraft said business has been extremely busy.

He added that Wozencraft Insurance recently updated its website to make the application process more efficient and streamlined for his customers, team and underwriters.

“It’s all about efficiency, the new system speeds up the application process so we can get numbers to potential clients even faster,” Wozencraft said. “We teamed up with American Reliable Insurance Agency, which we work with to provide performance boat insurance for various hulls nationwide, to get our systems to talk and it’s all running smoothly.”

Speaking of running smoothly, Wozencraft is expecting to have another fun season on the water, and he’s close to finalizing his event schedule.

“I’m doing the Desert Storm Poker Run for the first time with this boat, which is hard to believe since the Lake Havasu City, Ariz., event is kind of like Wozencraft’s home event,” he said. “The first year I had the boat (2017), I went to Louisiana for the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run, which was the same weekend, and last year I left the boat in Florida at Statement Marine for the winter between the Key West Poker Run and Tickfaw.”

Wozencraft plans to head straight from Desert Storm to Tickfaw and from there he’s going to attend the Jacksonville River Rally Fun Run in Florida, the Hartwell Lake Poker Run in South Carolina and Lake Cumberland Thunder Run in Kentucky. Once again, he’ll be at several events he attended last year—LEOPA Thunderfest in Ohio, Skaterfest in Michigan, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and Super Cat Fest in Missouri, the Lake Cumberland Poker Run in Kentucky and the Lake Powell Challenge in Arizona.

Sounds like a busy summer—and you’ll get to read all about it here on speedonthewater.com.
