Baja, Fountain And Donzi Brand Celebration At 60 Boats And Building

With 60 boats already signed up and registration open through Friday morning, Friday’s fifth annual Baja, Fountain and Donzi Fun Run—BFD for short—on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri is on track for another for a record-setting turnout. Last year’s BFD happening attracted 90 boats and likely will see 100-plus entries take to the water for the multi-stop event.

Temperatures predicted to be 100-plus degrees in the Lake of the Ozarks area this weekend certainly won’t hurt the turnout for the fifth annual Big Thunder Marine Baja, Fountain and Donzi Fun Run on Friday. Photo from the 2021 BFD event by Jeff Helmkamp/Helmkamp Photos.

In 2019, the Big Thunder Marine-produced fun run pulled in an event-record-setting blend of 120 Baja Marine, Fountain Powerboats and Donzi Marine models. Jeremy Anderson, the multi-brand dealership’s general manager, said he expects the fleet to top 100 boats.

“Most people who live locally don’t sign up until the last minute,” he explained. “Most do it the night before at the party in our Speed and Luxury Showroom. But they also can register the morning of the event.”

Big Thunder Marine will have a mini-fleet of its own in the mix. The company is planning to have three 34-foot Fountain Thunder Cats and a Fountain 32NX center console on the water Friday.

“It’s really an event for our customers,” Anderson said. “We look forward to seeing so many of them together.”
