Desert Storm Announces Kicker Audio As New Presenting Sponsor

According to a press release from Phantom Productions LLC, the new organization behind the Desert Storm and Monster Storm poker runs in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Kicker Audio, the high-end speaker system company based in Stillwater, Okla., is now the headlining sponsor of the 20th anniversary Desert Storm Poker Run slated for April 18-22.

“It is such an honor to have this legendary audio company supporting Desert Storm,” said Christina Crane, co-owner and event manager for the poker run and top-speed shootout. “Kicker stepped up the game for audio systems nationwide, so it’s a perfect pairing to have them recognized by high-performance boaters who take boating to another level. The company has been a part of Desert Storm before, but never at this level.”

Presented by Kicker Audio, which began with two men in a one-car garage and has grown into a 280,000-square-foot facility with more than 200 employees, the Desert Storm Poker Run will be headquartered at the London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu City. Participants and spectators of the event can expect to see Kicker’s 97-foot semi-truck equipped with the Boom Room in Lake Havasu City.

“We can’t wait to bring the thrill and excitement of the sound of our products to Arizona’s Playground,” said Steve Irby, the company’s founder and president. “Lake Havasu City is known for its toys, and we want to showcase the impact our sound can have on their experiences both in the desert and on the water.”

The five-day event will continue to feature the distinguished Thursday Street Party with top-caliber boats lined along Lake Havasu City’s McCulloch Blvd. The Street Party is free to the public and open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. The poker run takes place Friday and the top-speed shootout, which features a new 3/4-mile course, is scheduled for Saturday.

Phantom Productions, which is based in Peoria, Ariz., also is planning some changes for this year’s the ninth annual Halloween-themed Monster Storm Poker Run that is going to be held October 12-14 at the London Bridge Resort.
