Double R Performance Continues Spec-Boat Sales Streak

When Double R Performance, a full-service Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats dealer based in the Toronto, Canada, area delivered a new 340 Sport Center Console earlier this week, the company continued an admirable string of stock-ordered boats that never make it into stock. That’s the word from Peter Roberts, who co-owns Double-R Performance with his brother, Raymond.

Ordered as stock inventory, this Nor-Tech 340 Sport CC never made it to the Double R Performance showroom floor.

“We’ve never had a boat we’ve ordered on spec actually make it the showroom,” Roberts said, then laughed. “So we kept our streak alive.”

Not only did Nor-Tech remain on a stock-boat-sales roll with the new 34-footer, which is powered by triple Mercury Marine 350 Verado outboard engines, it took the company’s signature fade graphics package to a higher level, The paintjob actually involved 16 colors, according to Roberts.

“We’ve had Paul Diogo, Nor-Tech’s painter, do fades from silver to charcoal, silver to black and silver to blue, but this is the first one from black to white,” said Roberts. “But it was the Ford Mustang, grabber-blue that really made it pop. As usual, Paul did a great job As far as I’m concerned, he’s the best painter in the business when it comes to fades.

“We ordered the boat loaded with the works including a contoured Club bench seat and air-conditioning,” he continued. “It had a huge build list—nobody wants a stripped-down Nor-Tech—and the customer loves it.”
