Gallery Of The Week: Cigarette Opens St. Tropez

Reopened this week after its own novel coronavirus shutdown, the Port of Tropez, one of the crown jewels of the French Riviera, saw the arrival of three Cigarette Racing Team sportboats that will—along with their owner’s Mangusta yacht—call the port home for the summer season.

A longtime Cigarette customer and discerning collector of obviously valuable vessels, the owner brought his Cigarette-AMG 515 Project ONE model unveiled during the 2018 Miami International Boat Show, as well as a pair of 50-foot Cigarette-AMG creations.

“What else could be more perfect than a trio of Cigarette sportboat opening St. Tropez Harbor?” said Skip Braver, the owner and chief executive officer of the Opa-Locka, Fla., high-performance center console and V-bottom sportboat company, during a telephone interview yesterday. “The French Riviera is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and the owner will have plenty of time—and three different options—to experience the Cigarette difference this summer.”

Braver paused, then chuckled. “He’s living the life I want to be living,” he said. “Right now, I’m stuck driving through a torrential downpour in Miami.”
