Image Of The Week: Key West Vision

Just a week away, the Florida Powerboat Club poker run to Key West, Fla., which currently stands at 164 registered boats, finds us in a Key West state of mind. But with Race World Offshore’s 2020 Key West Championships cancelled, remembrance and nostalgia are as close as we’ll get to the city at the end of the road this year. Of course, we will still deliver news from the event.

Owned by Jeff Campbell of Texas but currently for sale, this Nor-Tech 450 Sport Center Console was picture perfect in Key West in 2018. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Like those of you who’ve been there, we have several archetypal visions of Key West, most of them, from the start of a Supercat cat race to Florida Powerboat Club members returning to port, involving Sunset Key as a background. This one, thanks to speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden, is a gem.

Boden captured this beautiful image of a Nor-Tech 450 center console with a Sunset Key backdrop in during the 2018 Speedonthewater.com annual invitational Key West photo session. As it will this year, that shoot produces most of the final images for our Year In Review print edition. Boden will be there again, at least for the first few days, this year to capture the Florida Powerboat Club run—and more—and he’ll be feeding us photos for galleries as he goes.

Like you, we can’t wait to see them.
