Image Of The Week: Lam-Boat Parking Only

Ever notice how restaurant valets always park the coolest cars in pairs right out front? The same sort of thing happens with the most-exotic go-fast boats during the annual Florida Powerboat Club poker run to Key West, Fla., which kicks off next Wednesday.

Case in point? The above image of a pair of 48- and 52-foot Lamborghini-themed MTI catamarans at the docks near the Conch Republic Seafood Company during the 2020 event.

Both boats were commissioned by New York’s Gino Gargiulo and have long since been sold to other owners. Inspired by Gargiulo’s special Aventador built to commemorate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary and called the LP720-4 50° ANNIVERSARIO, the 48-footer was unveiled in 2014. The 52-footer, which was based on Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) Roadster and had even greater attention to detail than his first Lambo-themed cat, debuted just two years later.

Both cats are showpieces—and conversation-starters. But say what you will about theme-boats—knowing, of course, that the only opinions of consequence are those of their owners—these MTI creations always capture attention at the docks.

Just as they surely will again next week.
