Image Of The Week: A Case For Fountain’s Left-Hand Throttles

With 60-plus boats to capture during last weekend’s Lake Erie Offshore Performance Association Thunderfest Poker Run, speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden didn’t lack for action-shot opportunities. Boden does a great job of mixing up complete boats—each flying high above the water if he has a choice—and tight cockpit shots. Each perspective tells a different story and we need both.

But though the complete-action pictures capture the rush of go-fast boating, the tight cockpit pictures showcase its more-personal side. From couples to families, all enjoy their own version of speed on the water.

Take the image of Ohio-based Artie Clark and his seven-year-old son, Ace, enjoying the LEOPA event in their 47-foot Fountain Powerboats sportboat. For the father-and-son cockpit duo, the day was all about running the boat together and producing memories that neither of them are likely to forget.

Thanks for another gem, Mr. Boden.
