Inside SOTW Mag: Women Of Substance—Nikki Sorenson

If you called Nikki Sorenson the official-unofficial ambassador of the Lake of the Ozarks, no one sane would argue with you. The Central Missouri waterway simply does not have better representation. Sorenson and her husband, Chuck, another charismatic figure of note, have lived at the lake for 16 years. In her “spare time,” she has spearheaded the Bikini Lives Matter apparel brand, organized a local group of women as the Speedonthewater.com spokesmodels and currently is launching a second clothing brand dubbed Horsepower Hottie.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOURSELF?

(Laughs) Wow, that’s a hard one. I am a wife and good friend. I’m an entrepreneur and a hustler. I’m a boating enthusiast and a lover of summer and travel—all of the foods.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE LAKE LIFE?

Lake life is a never-ending balance of working hard and playing hard. Lake life can be totally chaotic or totally chill. The most important thing that I have found is staying grounded and just being a good human. People will always remember how they were treated. Life is short so be kind and always live it up.

YOU ORGANIZE AN INCREDIBLE GROUP OF WOMEN TO REPRESENT SPEED ON THE WATER DURING THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS SHOOTOUT EVERY YEAR. WHY?

I think my lake girl gang are the prettiest girls in the world. All of these boating babes are vibrant, intelligent and giving. So if we are able to do good things and raise money for the community while having fun during Shootout week, then so be it.
