Key P1 Offshore Backer CMR Steps Up For Hurricane Ida Victims

A Category 4 storm, Hurricane Ida blasted portions of Southern Louisiana more than month ago, but the recovery work is far from complete and won’t be for months to come. CMR Roofing and Construction, a Naples, Fla.-based company that recently renewed its Powerboat P1/P1 Offshore sponsorship for the 2022 began working in the state as soon as it was safe to “provide relief work in an all-hands-on-deck endeavor to support the storm victims,” according to a recent press release from the Powerboat P1 organization.

The company, which specializes in emergency response, was on scene within a few days of the storm clearing.

“We deployed a major operation and our staff responded to schools, homes, and government facilities,” explained Steve Soule, CMR Roofing and Construction’s chief executive officer. “We’re mounting a major fundraising effort to take our response to another level and it will be promoted across all of our racing sponsorships, including Shaun Torrente Racing.”

CMR also will be hosting a benefit concert to raise funds for the hurricane victims in Southern Louisiana. Dubbed the “Ragin Country Crawl,” the concert is scheduled for November 7 at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette. Tickets can be purchase through the Ragin’ Country Crawl website.
