Lake Havasu Boat Show Faced With Venue-Change

In a press release this morning, organizers of the Lake Havasu Boat Show, scheduled for April 9-11 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., announced that their permit request for the Lake Havasu-Windsor State Park venue has been denied “due to continuing pandemic public safety concerns.” The organizers were notified of the decision earlier this week and already have selected Havasu 95 Speedway at Sara Park Sports Complex as the new site.

With its traditional venue out for 2021, organizers of the 30th annual Lake Havasu Boat Show, which typically attracts a variety of West Coast high-performance powerboat brands, are working on securing another site for the event. Photo by Tom Leigh copyright Tommy Gun Images.

“A request for permit approval and COVID mitigation plan have been submitted to the City for their review and it is expected that a decision will be forthcoming very shortly,” the organizers state in the release. “We’re optimistic that this request has a very good chance of being approved since several special events have already operated successfully from the Sara Park Sports Complex earlier this year and the Speedway program continues to run regular races there several times a month.

“Bottomline, in spite of the setback with the State Park venue, the 2021 Lake Havasu Boat Show is still on as scheduled,” they continued. “A new floor-plan is being created as quickly as possible.”

Currently sold out with a waiting list for exhibitors, the show is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is one of three events in the area slated that month with the inaugural Super Cat Fest West happening scheduled for April 15-18 followed by the Desert Storm Poker Run, April 21-25.
