Making A Major Mystic Power Move

A little more than a year ago—14 months to be precise—South Florida’s Billy Levinson took delivery of the first Mystic Powerboats M3800 luxury performance center console powered by four Mercury Racing 300R outboard engines. Though Levinson, the principal of the Levinson And Associates insurance marketing organization, had been around performance boats for some time thanks to his well-known buddy Gino Gargiulo, the 38-footer was his first. And for the next month or so, he absolutely loved it.

Now a second-time Mystic owner, Bill Levinson couldn’t resist the attraction of bigger power for his latest Mystic M3800.

“The 300-powered boat was fun for six to eight weeks,” he said. “Then Ryan Zivitski (Mystic’s general manager) took me on a ride on the first M3800 with quad 450s. I was done—10 minutes into the ride I told him, ‘I’m selling my boat and ordering one with 450s.’ ”

Levinson took delivery of the boat last Saturday and he was on the water that afternoon. He was back at it again on Sunday.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “On Sunday, we were running 91 mph in three feet of chop. In smoother water, we got 94.7 mph out of it. I wanted the extra performance. That was my goal in building this boat.”

Said Greg Weber, Mystic’s national sales manager, “Bill is a speed demon at heart. He’s fun to work with. He’s also the ultimate professional and he has great ideas.”

Though Levinson’s M3800 is the fourth to be equipped with 1,800-hp worth of supercharged V-8 outboards, it is—like all builds from the DeLand, Fla., company—one of a kind. The owner took his first 38-footer’s Lamborghini Nardo-Gray interior color scheme choice to another level with Lamborghini Urus-pattern stitching in the upholstery, and the same pattern-and-color scheme is carried into the boat’s SeaDek flooring on the sole. Mystic paint man Doug Harrell handled the boat’s striking custom Nardo-Gray exterior.

In December, Levinson will run his new prize in the Mystic owners event in Cape Coral, Fla. He’s also planning to register for the 2022 Florida Powerboat Club Tampa Bay Poker Run. In the meantime, he’ll just enjoy the boat in the waters off his South Florida home.

“I love everything about Mystic,” he said. “I wouldn’t even consider buying another boat.”

Levinson’s second Mystic M3800 has the same lovely home as his first.
