Stock V Class, Bracket 500 And More Strong For Race World Offshore Clearwater Contests

With 35 boats currently signed up and registration still open for this weekend’s Race World Offshore, Hooters restaurants-backed event in Clearwater, Fla., the fleet is shaping up to be solid in several classes. As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, 10 Super Stock teams have signed up to compete on the four-plus-mile oval course.

Stock V-class competitors Brit Lilly and Kevin Smith are hoping to overcome a string of bad luck in their new 29-foot Extreme raceboat this season and take their first checkered flag of the year this weekend in Clearwater, Fla. The sport’s marquee category this season, the Super Stock class presently has more than twice the number of teams registered than Stock V, the next-largest non-bracketed classes with four teams registered, and the Mod V-class, which has three teams currently slated to take the green flag.

But as it has for much the of 2021 season, the Bracket 500 class has a strong fleet coming with six teams—Bulletproof, Revelation, Offshore Addiction, Two Cruel, Team Woody and SRS Racing currently on the list.

As it has been all season, the Bracket 500-class competition should be fierce this Sunday.

As for Bracket 200, 400, 600 and 700 classes, each category currently has two teams registered for Sunday’s competition. The Bracket 300 class presently has one boat—Rollin Dirty Offshore—signed up to compete.

Race World Offshore has not yet released the class mix for each contest. The Clearwater event will be broadcast live—starting at 11 a.m.—on the Key West, Fla., organization’s Facebook page.
