Nor-Tech Continues 30th Anniversary ‘Year Of Giving’ With Food Pantry Donation

Thanks to its recently concluded Thanksgiving food drive, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats of Fort Myers, Fla., delivered 1,200 pounds of donated goods to the Cape Coral Caring Center food pantry on Tuesday. The effort was part of the company’s ongoing “Year of Giving” 30th anniversary celebration.

To help make it happen, Nor-Tech reached out to its dealers from around the country.

Nor-Tech co-owner Trond Schou (center, with Cape Coral Caring center executive director Julie Ferguson at his immediate left) and (far right) Henrik Margård, Nor-Tech’s chief operating officer tasked their dealers to help with a Thanksgiving food drive.

“In typical Nor-Tech family fashion, every single dealer stepped up this year and contributed toward this wonderful cause,” said Trond Schou, who co-founded the company with Nils Johnsen. “We have such a wonderful network of dealers, vendors and overall partners. Together we can accomplish so much.

Nor-Tech’s effort could not be better timed as food pantries nationwide face shortages of foodstuffs to donate to people in need. Though company actually started its Thanksgiving food drive years ago, it dovetails particularly well this year its philanthropic work, all of which is focused on Southwest Florida charities.

“Julie Ferguson, the executive director of the Cape Coral Caring Center, is such an inspiration to us,” added Schou. “We are thrilled to be able to give back to our local community.”

Next up for Nor-Tech is the annual Next up for Nor-Tech is participating in the annual Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The program “helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year,” according to its website.

“We have received the names, ages Christmas gift wishes for 25 kids so far,” said Schou. “And I expect us to reach out for more as this is always a popular giving event for Nor-Tech and our employees. If anyone would like to support this particular program, please feel free to reach out to Henrik Margård (Nor-Tech’s chief operating officer) and we will make as many great Christmas wishes come true for children in need in our community.”

Food to go, Nor-Tech style, for people in need.
