Outerlimits Fun Run Faithful Enjoy Lake Of The Ozarks Again
Thanks to devoted Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats customer and longtime local Michael “Doc” Janssen, who received support from friends and family members plus Outerlimits sales manager Dan Kleitz, close to 30 V-bottoms and catamarans built by the Bristol, R.I., company gathered for a morning fun run on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks on Friday.

Organized for the day before the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout top-speed contest for the sixth time this year, the Outerlimits Fun Run started with a breakfast run to Jolly Rogers Grub and Grog, and concluded with a Doc Party at Janssen’s home near mile marker 12. During the run, speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden and Tom Cline of Tom Cline Helicopter caught up with the fleet, and Boden did his best to capture pictures of each boat.
Several of Boden’s best images are in the slideshow below, including a beautiful shot of Without Limits, Janssen’s bright yellow canopied Outerlimits SV 53 powered by twin Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines.
According to Janssen, who is a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame thanks to many years of participating in the top-speed contest and volunteering his time, everyone was safe and had a great time before they left the group to join the poker run or check out a different part of the popular waterway before heading to Janssen’s house to swim in the pool and enjoy a catered meal and a cool drink from his poolside bar.

Among the custom high-performance boat builder’s longtime customers who attended the fun run and the pool party was Michigan’s Burton Kirsten, the owner of the radical SC 46 catamaran Jet., which is also powered by a pair of dual-calibration 1550/1350 engines from Mercury Racing.
“What a great day,” Kirsten said. “Thanks to Doc and the entire Outerlimits family. I love these people.”
