That a final roster of teams registered competing in tomorrow’s Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City, Ind., has not yet been released did nothing to deter competitors already signed up and in town from practicing today on the mostly calm 5-1/2-mile Lake Michigan course. Speedonthewater.com contributing photographer Jeff Helmkamp was on hand to capture images of the teams already there prepping and testing for tomorrow’s races four races, which are slated to begin noon and will be broadcast live on the P1 Offshore Facebook page.

Said Super Stock-class CMR team owner/throttleman Shaun Torrente, “It was pretty flat out there today.” Photos by Jeff Helmkamp copyright Helmkamp Photos.

Competitors on scene estimate there will be a solid 50 to 60 boats in the mix for tomorrow’s contests. But here is what we do know this evening beyond doubt—how many laps each class is scheduled to run:

• Class 1—12 laps.
• Supercat—12 laps.
• Super Stock—9 laps.
• Factory Stock 450R—9 laps.
• Vee Extreme—9 laps.
• Mod V—8 laps.
• Stock V—8 laps.
• Bracket 100 and 200—9 laps.
• Bracket 300 and 400—8 laps.
• Bracket 500—7 laps.• Bracket 600—6 laps.
• Bracket 700—4 laps.
