Powerboat P1 Inks Three-Year Sponsorship Deal With Good Boy Vodka

As a relatively new sponsor in offshore powerboat racing, Good Boy Vodka founder Alex Pratt is a bit closer to the sport than most. The Michigan-based, offshore racing rookie is sharing the cockpit of a Union International Motonautique Class 1 raceboat this season with veteran racer Miles Jennings of the United Kingdom. An offshoot of Powerboat P1, which also is based in the U.K., P1 Offshore is producing the eight-race 2022 UIM Class 1 World Championship Series.

All of which makes Good Boy Vodka, which also has a growing line of hard seltzers, the perfect backer-partner for Powerboat P1. The two entities have inked a three-year sponsorship deal and now the brand is the Official Vodka of P1 Powerboat Racing.

The news was announced in at P1 press release this morning.

“We are excited to be partnering with P1 as we grow our brand across the nation,” said Pratt in the release. “I founded the business with a mission to support animal charities and veterans, and our ‘Every pour helps a pup’ slogan means a portion of the proceeds from every bottle purchased is donated to foundations supporting those causes.

“I’ve been involved with motorsports for many years,” he continued. “This season, I joined the 345 Racing powerboat team, sponsored by XINSURANCE, to compete in the UIM Class 1 World Championship so this sponsorship is an ideal marriage.”

Set for July 1-3, the next race in the Class 1 series is the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. Good Boy vodka and hard seltzers will be available during the Friday night ‘Meet and Greet’ event in the Southwest Florida city as well in the P1 Village throughout the weekend. The products also will be showcased during the September 2-4 P1 Offshore-produced St. Petersburg Powerboat Grand Prix.

“Partnerships are at the heart of our business and we are looking forward to welcoming the Good Boy Vodka team to our two P1 Offshore events in Florida,” said Azam Rangoonwala, the chief executive officer of Powerboat P1, in the release.”We will be working closely with Alex to help him meet his business objectives and we wish him success in his new Class 1 racing career.”

Said Pratt (right with offshore legend Steve Curtis), “This sponsorship is an ideal marriage.”
