Race World Offshore To Share Tech Assets With Powerboat P1

An American Power Boat Association member-organization, Race World Offshore has a robust technical inspection team—complete with a trailer stocked with the required equipment—led by veteran tech inspector Richard Dancisin. Those assets will be in play at the Key West, Fla.-based outfit’s September 23-25 race in Clearwater, Fla., as well as during the Race World Offshore-produced American Powerboat Association/Union Internationale Motonautique World Championship, November 6-14, in Key West, Fla.

Thanks to a collaboration between Race World Offshore and Powerboat P1, the Race World Offshore technical inspection team also will be on the job at Powerboat P1-produced races starting May 19-22 in Cocoa Beach, Fla., followed by the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix, July 2-3, and the September 3-4 St. Petersburg Grand Prix. And they’ll be working closely with Shawn Steinert and his crew, which handles safety operations for both race-producers

The Cocoa Beach, Sarasota, Clearwater and St. Petersburg events are part of the eight-race 2022 APBA Offshore National Championship Series. The Race World Offshore technical team will provide pre- and post-race inspections at all four regular-season venues, as well as in Key West.

“We are pleased to work with P1 for the upcoming APBA race events to ensure that all equipment is uniform through the season,” said Larry Bleil, the owner and founder of Race World Offshore. “RWO has a trailer equipped with all the technical equipment required and experienced staff. We will provide a level playing field in terms of technical inspections, and this is what the APBA is looking for.

“It makes sense that we bring our trailer and our technical inspection team to those races,” he added. “I am more than happy to help and work with the P1 group.”

Said Michelle Petro of Powerboat P1, “Staffing at events is crucially important and Race World Offshore proved in Clearwater and Key West last year that their technical inspections were thorough and effective. The aim is to provide the racers with a more-consistent platform than currently exists.”

The Race World Offshore technical inspection team will wrap up its 2022 season work at the APBA/UIM Offshore World Championships for the catamaran classes in Key West, Fla.
