Progress Report: Relentless Skater Coming To Life At Boat Customs

Few if any high-performance powerboat owners who live in Northern California spend more time in Michigan than Dale Razor. Razor currently owns two catamarans—a 36-footer and a 46-footer—from Skater Powerboats so regular pilgrimages to the Douglas, Mich., company from his home in Discovery Bay are part of his routine.

Being clear-coated today and Monday at Boat Customs, this Skater 36 boasts asymmetrical blue-and-silver graphics.

And while he’s there, he always makes time to visit his friend Chris Mills at Boat Customs in Caledonia. Mills has been involved in updating every Skater cat—including the stunning 30 Prototype—that his longtime friend Razor has owned, The most of recent of those is a 2009 model-year 36-footer he acquired in late 2020.

Razor returned from Boat Customs yesterday, where Mills currently is painting the 36-footer dubbed Relentless by its passionate owner.

“As always, Chris has gone beyond meeting my expectations and exceeded them,” said Rayzor.

“It looks great” said Mills .”The first round of clear-coat is going on today. We’ll apply another one on Monday after we finish the shadows and airbrush work.

“There’s still a dark-blue graphic to be put on the deck,” said Razor. “There are no stripes and no symmetry like every other boat getting painted right now. And, in true Skater heritage, it has a big name on it so everyone knows what boat this is. It’s exactly what I was hoping for.”

Speedonthewater.com will continue to follow this project through its completion.
