Countdown to Miami: Six Boat-Show-Worthy MTIs To See

The team at Marine Technology Inc., in Wentzville, Mo., as well as the crew at the company’s new South Florida sales and service center, is busy putting the finishing touches on six new MTI models that are going to be on display at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show (Feb. 14-18).

mti booth18According to sales manager Tim Gallagher, the MTI booth at the end of Pier 3 (right, click to enlarge) is set to feature two new demo models of the company’s popular 340X sport catamaran and MTI-V 42 luxury performance center console.

“We have a gorgeous new silver 340X with 400s that is our new demo as we sold the red one (last year’s show boat) to a customer on the West Coast of Florida,” Gallagher said. “We’ll have two new 42s—one is our newest demo—at the show along with the 57 (above) that was at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Key West Poker Run. We took that boat back for some updates and changes—it wasn’t quite finished before. Just wait until you see it at the show. It’s over the top.”

He also said that the first MTI 340X—and first sport cat for that matter—powered by Mercury Racing’s new 300R engines is going to be at the show and available for demo rides by appointment. Although he’s not sure if it will be in the MTI booth or part of Mercury’s in-water display.

Along with the outboard-powered options, MTI has a stunning new stern-drive 48-foot catamaran coming to the show that is powered by twin Mercury 1550/1350 dual-calibration engines.

Gallagher said demo rides are available and to contact him for an appointment.
