Full Speed Ahead For The Boardwalk At Waves And Wheels

It’s been a few weeks since an extremely energetic Justin Wagner and the team behind Waves and Wheels in Osage Beach, Mo., moved into their new waterfront facility at mile marker 26 on Lake of the Ozarks—The Boardwalk at Waves and Wheels—but the excitement of working completely out of the new 27,000-plus-square-foot property hasn’t come close to fading.

Following several months of normal day-to-day project work as well as an exhausting move into the new facility, which includes a product showroom, storage racks, docks, fuel, buildings for audio installations, upholstery projects, fabrication and more, and even maintenance from Lakeview Marine’s Jonathan Gill and crew, Wagner took his team on a much-needed vacation in October—a Royal Caribbean cruise that was a Christmas gift from Wagner to his employees.

Since then the crew has been full bore on projects ranging from an outboard-powered Cougar catamaran and a Cigarette Racing Team 38’ Top Gun V-bottom to a 33-foot Baja Marine V-bottom and some “top secret” boats. Between complete interior restorations, new upholstery, electronics and lighting upgrades, SeaDek installations and more, there isn’t much that Waves and Wheels can’t handle, especially in the new facility. Wagner, who said his team has been installing and selling a ton of Bluave Marine Audio equipment, is grateful to have the on-site space to stock his amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers as that part of the business was outgrowing the old location, which he still owns and is using for customer storage.

Working out of one facility now, Wagner believes the Waves and Wheels crew is going to be even more efficient at the Boardwalk location. In fact, he’s already seeing it, as he discusses in his shop tour video provided above.

Wagner also said he’s making some serious progress on his personal project boat, a 46-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran that is getting a complete overhaul at the moment by friends at Maryland Offshore Marine Center in Rockville, Md.

“The Skater’s custom bustle is done and we’re working on the interior design and getting the boat prepped for paint,” Wagner said. “Most people know this, but we’re not going to do a Transformers theme like we had planned—it was going to be a little too over the top for me graphics wise. So we’ve come up with a better idea that I think people are really going to enjoy.”
