Image of the Week: Show Stealer

The final day of SuperCar Week, yesterday’s SuperCar Show in the West Palm Beach, Fla., attracted all manner of dream vehicles from the likes of Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Bugatti, Infiniti and, of course, Lamborghini. But only one was showcased alongside a matching yellow 48-foot Marine Technology Inc., catamaran. That boat was, of course, the stunner owned by Gino Gargiulo, which he commissioned to match Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary model called the LP720-4 50° ANNIVERSARIO. The cat was unveiled during the 2014 Miami International Boat Show (read the story).

Which would you choose, the cat or the car? It’s a trick question. You’d take both. (Click image to enlarge.) Photo courtesy/copyright Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix

On hand for the annual West Palm Beach event was photographer Pete Boden, who somehow manages to make it to every corner of Florida when outrageous hardware of any kind is involved. Sure, Boden loves to photograph high-performance pleasure boats and offshore racers, but he’s also been known to shoot vintage racing aquatic racing machines of all shapes and sizes, sea birds, aircraft, motorcycles and cars.

We don’t know really know if Gargiulo’s cat stole yesterday’s show—after all, it was vying for attention with some of the world’s finest SuperCars. But even among all those vehicles, we’re pretty sure the 48-footer held its own.
