Wozencraft World Tour Stop No. 7: 1,000 Islands Charity

Just a week after enjoying his first Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Northern Michigan, high-performance marine insurance man Devin Wozencraft was participating in his third 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Upstate New York. And that means Wozencraft has been part of every 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run since the event’s inception three years ago.

Though Wozencraft left his 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran in Michigan while he returned to Southern California to conduct business, the trek to New York still was significant. But it proved to be more than worth the effort.

“This was definitely the best of all three events,” Wozencraft said. “It was obvious that a lot of time and effort and planning went into this event months in advance.

“The lunch stop may have been the best part of the day because it was at Alexandria Bay, which is a very cool little town,” he continued. “Lunch was served on this hilltop in an enclosed outdoor area with incredible views of the 1,000 Islands area and Boldt Castle. The barbecue was crazy good. The way they handled the starts in each group was well thought out and worked well. This event is just so well organized.”

Next up for Wozencraft is the Lake Erie Offshore Performance Association Thunderfest August 3-4 in Ohio.
