Outerlimits Expecting Epic 30-Boat Fleet For Factory Fun Run

Early next month, Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay will host an invasion of new and old Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats creations during the company’s Factory Fun Run weekend. Currently returning from yesterday’s 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run—Outerlimits was among the third annual event’s sponsors—sales manager Dan Kleitz said the event based out of the company’s Bristol, R.I., should attract at least 30 boats to the August 9-10 happening.

That would make the upcoming factory-based event the single gathering of Outerlimits models in the company’s 25-year history.

“We’ll have an excellent mix of new-for-2019 boats like the Silver Bullet SL 50 and Dave Scotto’s Team Gotta IV SL 50X,” said Kleitz. “Burton Kirsten is bringing Jet, his SC 46 catamaran. Vinnie Diorio is bringing his SV 43. We’ll have everything from a 37 Stiletto to our most current models.”

The company’s newest build also will be part of the fleet.

“Our customer Jeff Henry is taking delivery of his new SL 50 during the event,” said Kleitz.

Kleitz said that many of the participants have committed to arriving Thursday so they can get their boats in the water. The rest will arrive Friday morning, and then the group will head out for “a little blast” and a lunch run on the bay.

“That will give them a chance to get a little familiar with the waterway, all the channels markers and so on,” he said. “Then we’ll head back to the Outerlimits factory for an open house and party with food trucks and refreshments.”

On Saturday, the fleet will run to lunch in Newport, R.I., then return to Bristol for a dinner celebration. Bristol’s family-owned Borden Light Marina and Tipsy Seagull will host the fleet for the weekend.

Said Kleitz, “We’re looking forward to celebrating Outerlimits with our customers in August in Bristol. We’re expecting an incredible collection of the boats we’ve built for the past 25 years. It’s going to be epic.

“And it’s not too late for other Outerlimits owners to sign up,” he added. “The more the merrier.”
