Outerlimits Hosting Tres Martin Driving School May 27-28 At Home Base

Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats is hosting Tres Martin, the founder of the Tres Martin Performance Boat School, to conduct a high-performance driving course on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28 at its Bristol, R.I. headquarters. Martin will cover the classroom portion of his go-fast powerboat-driving course in the Outerlimits facility on the first day. The following morning, he and his students—in their own boats—will tackle on-water training on Naragansett Bay.

Set for May 27-28, the Tres Martin course is open to Outerlimits owners, as well as the owners of other high-performance powerboat brands. Photo from the 2019 Outerlimits Factory Fun Run by Halsey Fulton copyright Outerlimits/speedonthewater.com.

Outerlimits sale manager Dan Kleitz said the decision to invite Martin to bring his course to the Northeast was customer-driven. He added that he is expecting approximately five customers to participate in their own boats, which range from a 1996 37 Stiletto to a 2019 SL 41.

“There are two local guys who need to take the class and we have lots of boats here for service,” he said. “So it was a natural fit to open it up to more potential customers. With the course, you have to use your own boat so you get credited for a discounted insurance rate.

“There are even a few guys without Outerlimits models who are interested in taking the class, and they are welcome,” he continued. “I think the class offers a lot of merit for new performance-boat owners, as well as seasoned performance-boat owners.”

Reservations for the course can be made through the Tres Martin Performance Boat School, 352-620-8737.
