Outerlimits Pops First New 39-Foot Center Console Hull

Earlier this week, Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats pulled the first SX 39 high-performance center console hull from its new hull mold. According to Jason Amaral, the production manager for the Bristol, R.I., custom boat outfit, the company will start work on deck and console tooling today. As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, the first 39-footer will be powered by quad Mercury Marine Verado 400 outboard engines.

With the first hull complete for its first SX 39 center console, Outerlimits is now focusing on deck and console tooling.

“We already have the first two sold,” said Amaral. “The phone has been ringing off the hook ever since we announced we are building a center console. We have the best high-performance V-bottom hulls on the market. It’s time we show what they can do in the center console world.

“We already have lots of interest in it,” he added. “We’re confident it will be a hit not just with the performance-boating segment of the market, but with the fishing segment.”

According to Amaral, the boat should be finished by the end of summer. The Outerlimits crew hopes to debut the new model during the Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run in November.

“Assuming that event happens and we think it will, we also plan to have our new outboard-powered SV 29 and 36-foot catamaran in that event,” he said.

Said Amaral, “The phone has been ringing off the hook ever since we announced we are building a center console.”
