Registration Open For Third Annual Texoma Throw Down

As of last week, the Texoma Powerboat Association has opened pre-registration for the third annual Texoma Throw Down hosted at Marina Del Rey in Kingston, Okla., the weekend of August 6-8.

Although lead organizer Casey Moore and his team were forced to move the event from May to August in 2019 because of high water levels on Lake Texoma, they decided to stick with the August date this year and it’s worked out in their favor as it likely would have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic had they decided to do the run in May as they did in 2018.

“We kind of lucked out with that,” Moore said. “We’re excited to build on the momentum we’ve created the last couple of years. The run is going to be almost the same as last year except we’re adding another stop. The lunch stop is also going to be at the Island Bar & Grill at Highport Marina in Pottsboro, Texas.

“We’re planning a meet and greet Thursday evening with free beer for poker runners,” he added. “There will be bands playing each night and we’re going to have the Burgers in Paradise lunch on the islands again on Friday. It’s going to be great to see everyone back out here again.”

Moore posted on Facebook yesterday that he will be stuffing the captain’s bags with event tumblers for the first 125 people to enter (see image above). To register for the Texoma Throw Down, click here. And if you have any questions, reach out to Moore via Facebook or email.
