WIA Marine Insurance Going All In Again For Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout

Along with the top speeds, the charitable donations and the vendor displays that line the shores at the host location, Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill, one of the things that has improved over the years at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri is the start boat. Much of that has to do with a dedicated team of volunteers and state-of-the-art communication and radar equipment, not to mention a super committed sponsor.

According to Chris Wagner of WIA Marine Insurance in Lake Ozark, Mo., this year marks the 10th anniversary that his company has supported the radar boat at the start of the course.

“We’re excited to be the official sponsor of the start boat again on Saturday and Sunday,” said Wagner, who called this week’s Shootout festivities his busiest week of the year. “It’s an important part of the course and an awesome spot to catch a glimpse of the action.

“We have a lot going on this week but it’s so worth it—we’re proud to support an event that has such a tremendous impact on our community,” he continued. “The fact that there are so many different charities involved with the Shootout is amazing. And the way the community comes together to make this happen—so much work goes into it all year long—is pretty incredible. People come from all over the world for this event, and with the way the coverage has expanded over the years, you can watch it from anywhere in the world.”

Wagner said he plans to attend tonight’s Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame celebration and have a huge presence at the Wednesday evening Shootout On The Strip on Bagnell Dam Boulevard, which is presented by Bluave Marine Audio. On top of that, WIA is going to have a display at Camden on the Lake Resort during the Friday and Saturday Super Cat Fest gatherings. In fact, he’s one of two title sponsors of the event, which includes Thursday’s “Bikini Lives Matter” pool tour and Friday night’s bikini contest.

“We’re going to have the WIA Marine Insurance Super Stock-class Doug Wright catamaran that Loren Peters and Mike Wright have been racing this season on display Wednesday during the Shootout On The Strip,” Wagner said. “We’re also going to have a couple of cool boats—a beautiful Cigarette Racing Team 42X with Mercury Racing 1350 engines and a stunning 40-foot MTI catamaran also with 1350 engines—on hand along with several members of the WIA team to answer questions anyone may have.”
