2020 Year In Review Magazine On Sale Now

Jam-packed with highlights from the last year of performance boat happenings—and believe it or not there were just as many as in years past despite the entrenched stigma of 2020—the team at Speedonthewater.com is excited to announce that the Speed On The Water 2020 Year In Review magazine is now available to pre-order for anyone who wants to get their copies directly from our Wisconsin-based printer in January.

I know we say this every year, but this is always a “fun” time for Matt Trulio and I as we expeditiously put our spin on the season of go-fast boating, with help, of course, from chief photographer Pete Boden and a slew of other contributing photographers, such as Jeff Helmkamp, Kevin Johns, Tom Leigh, Tim Sharkey and more. Without them, there wouldn’t be such a killer, photo-heavy, oversize, collectible print magazine for us to produce.

As we’ve been putting the finishing touches on what is going to be our sixth annual Year In Review issue and reflecting on 2020, we realize it has been an enduring and unfortunate year for several event organizers and the charities that benefitted from the events that ended up being cancelled. Yet, at the same time, the year has been one of the best this industry has seen in a long time in terms of boat sales as well as participation and economic impact in certain areas. Can you say Lake of the Ozarks?

Sure, the racing season was disappointing, but major sporting events around the world have been similarly impacted. And yes, the whole political landscape has never been messier, but we believe there’s been a lot of “good” from the year 2020. Just look at some of the new models—for example, DCB’s new M37R Widebody, the company’s first full-tunnel cat, the luxurious outboard-engine-powered Nor-Tech 460 Flyer and the sporty Outerlimits SV 29 OB. And, once again, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout exceeded its charitable expectations by donating $400,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

We know you can’t wait to see the magazine—neither can we. But at least you can secure your copy (and copies for your friends) now knowing that all good things come to those who wait. Well maybe that’s not entirely true, but in this case, we’re pretty confident you’re going to love the 2020 Year In Review.
