Canados 41 Gladiator Sportboat Build In Progress For SLT Collection

With the hull and deck of a 41-foot Canados Yachts Gladiator sportboat complete at the company’s headquarters in Rome, the SLT Collection in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has moved one step closer to bringing the luxury performance powerboat brand to the United States market. In November 2021, SLT Collection founder and owner Scot Conrad announced that his multi-faceted dealership had signed on as the exclusive dealership for the Italian builder.

Ready for interior installation and rigging, this Canados Yachts 41 Gladiator sportboat will be coming stateside this spring thanks to the SLT Collection.

Conrad said he is hoping to have the boat, which will be powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines on Shaun Torrente Racing brackets, stateside by March or April. But before that happens, Troy Hannon of Supreme Marine in Dania Beach, Fla., to rig the all-carbon-fiber, post-cured 41 footer.

“Canados is a yacht builder so we want to send Troy there to rig the first one and show them how to handle rigging a high-performance boat,” said Conrad. “This boat is so freaking cool. It will have five shock-mitigating seats—with particularly easy access at the driver and copilot spots—and a rear bench in the cockpit. It so many cool features, like carbon fiber cleats with titanium hardware.”

Though future buyers of the 6,800-pound model will, of course, be able to take delivery at the SLT Collection, Conrad said he hopes they’ll visit Canados Yachts prior to shipping for a “European delivery.”

“We did that with a BMW automobile once it was an incredible experience,” he explained. “Buyers could visit the factory to check out the finished product and then take it, with a captain, down the Amalfi Coast and to Capris. How cool would that be?”

Editor’s Note: Speedonthewater.com will follow this build and delivery as it progresses.
