Cigarette Unveils 41 Nighthawk Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Center Console

Since 2007, Cigarette Racing Team and Mercedes-AMG have enjoyed a marketing partnership, the most visible product of which has been an AMG automobile-inspired Cigarette sportboat or center console each year. Neither the cancellation of the 2021 Miami International Boat Show, where the Cigarette-AMG creations traditionally debuted, nor the iconic Opa-locka, Fla.-based custom boat company’s recent sale were enough to stop Cigarette and Mercedes-AMG from releasing yet another stunner this year.

The proof is in the new 41 Nighthawk AMG Black Series, which could—key word—be the coolest collaboration between Cigarette and Mercedes-AMG to date. The news of the stunning 41-footer was announced in a press release from the Germany-based automotive giant yesterday.

Inspired by the equally stunning AMG GT Black Series automobile, the 41 Nighthawk AMG Black Series HyperLux Series center console is powered by five Mercury Racing 450R V-8 outboard engines. (The automobile is powered by a 720-hp “handcrafted” V-8 AMG engine.) The model was produced in a collaboration between the team at Cigarette and Gorden Wagener, the chief design officer for Mercedes-AMG.

The boat boasts Magmabeam orange, a color introduced on AMG GT Black Series automobiles, integrated with black to create the 41-footer’s color scheme, which is “further enhanced by small AMG logos painted toward the bow of the boat in a repeating pattern,” according to the release. Handled by Mark Morris and the team at Visual Imagination in Peculiar, Mo., each logo was individually painted—there are no decals on the center console. The center trim pieces of the outboard engine cowlings are also painted in Magmabeam orange.

“The new Cigarette 41 Nighthawk AMG GT Black Series perfectly translates the shared philosophies between AMG and Cigarette, resulting in a truly remarkable special edition boat,” the release stated. “With its dramatic proportions, benchmark-setting power and striking design, the new Nighthawk AMG Black Series delivers Mercedes-AMG’s legendary performance from its awe-inspiring Black Series model, creating an equally compelling role-model on the water.”
