DCB Planning To Debut M37R Catamaran At Super Cat Fest

Visitors to the 11th annual Super Cat Fest event, scheduled for August 25-30 at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, will get the first open-to-the-public view of the new DCB Performance Boats M37R catamaran. The full-tunnel, twin Mercury Racing 450R outboard engine-powered 37-footer will be showcased at the Camden On The Lake Resort docks among a handful of beauties from the El Cajon, Calif., custom catamaran builder.

Though DCB is keeping its first M37R under wraps until the end of the month, hull No. 2 (above) should give Super Cat Fest visitors an idea of what to expect at the event.

While DCB is a longtime Super Cat Fest sponsor that makes the most out of what has grown to be a vital marketing event for the company, the outfit typically debuts new models at the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. That event was postponed this year, though the M37R would not have been ready in time for a showcase at the popular event. (For that reason, DCB has long-planned to debut the 37-footer at this month’s happening in Missouri.)

“Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we are putting much of our Super Cat Fest efforts toward the debut the M37R at the Lake of the Ozarks,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB, which typically has a commanding presence at the event. “That boat is going to Kris and Shelby Hansen of California. The next one is going to Canadian Brad Macauley and the one after that is going to Bryce Menzies, a well-known Red Bull off-road racer out of Las Vegas.”

A longtime Super Cat Fest sponsor, DCB always strives for a dominant showing at the event.

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, which runs concurrently with Super Cat Fest under a different organizing umbrella, also typically provides DCB with an exceptional showcase for its products. Johnston said he’s not sure how many of his customer will compete this year.

“With the COVID-19 situations, commitments are understandably harder to come by,” he said. “But I expect we’ll have a good showing.”
