Faces—And Viewing Essentials—Of Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach

Thousands of offshore racing fans, curious locals and wide-eyed tourists just fortunate enough to be in Fort Myers Beach this weekend lined the streets of the Southwest Florida waterfront city for last night’s Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Boat Parade. Primary organizer Tim Hill and his team included the parade in their first-year event in 2019, and it was such a hit with the crowd that they knew they had to bring it back in advance of tomorrow’s races.

At present, 50 teams have registered for the event, many of which were represented on the decks of their boats—along with family and friends—as they rolled over the bridge leading into downtown Fort Myers Beach last night. And as you can see from the images in the slideshow below, the party was on.

For fans who want to catch raceboats on the water today, testing runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Fort Myers Beach Pier is the perfect spot to catch all the action. Come Saturday morning, that prime viewing perch will be packed with spectators—as will the adjacent beaches and hotels.
