Formula Earns Consumer Satisfaction Honor

Formula Boats has received a 2020 Consumer Satisfaction Index Award from the National Marine Manufacturers. The news was announced yesterday in a press release from the Decatur, Ind., powerboat builder.

Formula has been recognized for product excellence by the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association through its CSI program.

The company was honored for its products across several categories. They include fiberglass outboard, stern-drive bowrider, stern-drive cuddy and stern-drive express models.

“We are very proud to have received the NMMA’s CSI award this year,” said Scott Smith, the company’s marketing manager. “Formula has always strived to build a superior product with the ultimate goal of making happy and fulfilled customers. That is a product of not only superior design and manufacturing, but of prompt, competent service after the sale. As someone who spent many years in customer service roles here at Formula and who is part of the community that builds these beautiful boats, I can attest to the focus and dedication to customer satisfaction that is fostered within the culture of our business.

“It is very rewarding and satisfying to have earned these awards yet again,” he continued. “Not to come off as haughty, but I think we have come to expect to win CSI award—not because we think it is a given, but because creating satisfied customers is ultimately end game of our business.”

Presented annually, the trade organization’s CSI Awards program honors manufacturers that “actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer.” Award recipients have achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine, according to the release.
