Good Boy Vodka To Make A Big Splash In Key West

As the Official Vodka of the Race World Offshore-produced American Power Boat Association Offshore World Championships coming to Key West, Fla., November 7-14, the relatively new Good Boy Vodka brand will be impossible to miss. Launched a little more than a year ago at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri by entrepreneur and high-performance enthusiast Alex Pratt, the California corn-based, distilled spirit has become a hit with go-fast powerboat fans around the country.

That makes the Key West Worlds the ideal venue for the introduction of Good Boy Seltzer, the company’s newest offering, which is a Good Boy Vodka-enhanced sparkling beverage rather than a fermented product. Good Boy Seltzer will officially debut on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and will be sold during the Speed On The Water Key West Bash benefitting Samuel’s House that night at the Sandbar Sports Grill on Greene Street.

As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, for the first hour of the party all Good Boy Vodka drinks are free.

“People will have to ask for a Good Boy Vodka drink to get them free for the first hour,” Pratt said. “Also, though we won’t be selling or sampling Good Boy Seltzer at our display outside on Greene Street, people will be able to order them at the Sandbar.”

The party is just one element of Good Boy’s Key West presence next month. During Friday’s races, Good Boy Vodka and XINSURANCE are hosting a 100-guest VIP hospitality event at the Hyatt Centric Resort and Spa. The invitational Good Boy/XINSURANCE VIP Key West party series will continue that night at Lagerheads Beach Bar on Simonton Street. On Saturday, the brand heads to the Rick’s/Durty Harry’s bar complex on Duval Street for an open-to-the-public celebration.

The co-branded Good Boy Vodka/XINSURANCE 50-foot Mystic Powerboats catamaran, which is powered by a pair of T-53 turbine engines, is going to be on display during Friday night’s Race World Offshore Raceboat Exhibit and Parade on Duval Street, as well in the dry pits all week.

“The Good Boy girls are going to be handing out free seltzer samples, so if you see them walking around Key West ask for one,” Pratt said. “And the winners of the races will get bottles of Good Boy Vodka.”

Good Boy Vodka drinks are free for the first hour of the Thursday night Speed On The Water Key West Bash at the Sandbar Sports Grill.

Catchy and clever as it is, Good Boy Vodka’s “Every pour helps a pup” tagline doesn’t tell the full story of the brand’s involvement with animal charities. Through a variety of channels, the company supports Pets for Vets, which pairs veterans with rescue animals, as well as Warrior Dog Foundation, which works to rehabilitate canines returning from military service.

“Just like human veterans, a lot of military service dogs come back from combat with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and often need to be put down if they’re not rehabilitated,” Pratt said. “Our goal is to help those returning veterans and service dogs have a better life.

“And that’s why we’re introducing our seltzer on Veterans Day,” he added. “It’s perfect.”
