Image Of The Week: Captain Jack’s New Favorite Magazine

In terms of promoting the annual Speed On The Water Year In Review magazine—the sixth of which started shipping to readers last week—we’ve seen some exceptional images taken by professionals and readers alike since the inaugural 2015 edition was released. But this one shot by Iowa’s Phil Kemp of his one-year-old son, Jack, surrounded by all six oversize magazines tops the list.

Like father, like son—one-year-old Jack Kemp is well on his way to becoming a diehard performance boat enthusiast thanks to his dad. Photo by Phil Kemp

In fact, the image of little Jack “pointing out his new favorite magazine,” according to Kemp, is better than the one Kemp shared last year calling the 2019 edition the “Best. Magazine. Ever.” That picture showcasing his collection of the first five issues spread out across the sun pad of his Baja Marine 25 Outlaw was featured as an Image of the Week last year, but the one of #CaptainJack—as Kemp tagged his son on Facebook—sitting on the anchor carpet with six Year In Review magazines in a semi-circle around him is as cute as it gets.

Speedonthewater.com certainly has no doubt that Jack is going to be taking after his father and that he’ll be spending much of his free time when he’s older boating on Iowa’s Lake Okoboji, Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks and other waterways throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Speedonthewater.com is also curious to see how Kemp could possibly top this spectacular image next year when the seventh annual Speed On The Water 2021 Year In Review magazine arrives at his home in early 2022. Pressure’s on now Phil!

Seriously though, if you haven’t ordered one of the 2020 Year In Review magazines yet, now’s the time. You can purchase a copy of the collector’s edition magazine, or one of the past issues, by clicking here.
