Repowered Teasers Skater Part Of Maryland Offshore Fleet All Set For Key West

Along with four performance boats supported in one way or another by Maryland Offshore Performance Marine Center in Rockville, Md., Andy Imhof and the Maryland Offshore team are all set to make the run from Miami to Key West, Fla., in Teasers—Imhof’s canopied 36-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran, the former Showtime raceboat—as part of this week’s Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run.

After working hard last week to finish rigging the 36-footer’s new 540-cubic-inch engines that produce roughly 1,300 hp aside, and water-testing the Skater on Friday night before leaving for Florida, Imhof is excited to put the former world and national champion raceboat to the test in the granddaddy of all poker runs, which coincides with this week’s Race World Offshore-produced American Power Boat Association/Union Internationale Motonautique Offshore World Championships.

Imhof, Mitch Kramer and the rest of the Maryland Offshore crew be joined on Wednesday by Imhof’s good friend and business partner—Waves and Wheels owner Justin Wagner, who is running his 40-foot Skater Predator—as well as three Maryland Offshore customers, Virginia’s Bill Nohle in his Cigarette Racing Team 50 Marauder, Maryland’s Joe Erickson in his Fountain Powerboats 42 Executioner and California’s Brian Metcalf in his 40-foot MTI catamaran.

“We’ve got a great group going down in the poker run this year—it’s going to be fun,” said Imhof, who founded Maryland Offshore in 1996. “The Teasers Skater is running well as are all of the other boats. I can’t wait to see everyone down there and look at all of the other cool boats in town.”

This week’s event marks the culmination of the Maryland Offshore crew’s fun-filled 2021 Teasers Tour, a poker run tour that was made possible in part by Dave Johnson, the owner of Teasers Gentleman’s Club in Key West. That also means that Thursday night’s Teasers Key West Poker Run VIP Party from 9 p.m. to midnight is finally here.

“As part of the 2021 Teasers Tour, Teasers and Maryland Offshore are inviting all the poker run participants to Teasers on Thursday night for a customer-appreciation party,” Imhof said. “I have to thanks Paola Migueles for orchestrating the whole Teasers Tour. She did a great job putting it all together. Dave has been so supportive of us this year and he said he wanted to support the wonderful people who come to Key West year in and year out for the poker run and races so Teasers is hosting an open bar to show its appreciation to the performance boating community. For anyone who doesn’t want to come into the club, there will be live music and refreshments in the courtyard.”

The team at Speedonthewater.com is going to be at the party, fashionably late of course as the Speed On The Water Key West Bash is taking place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. over at the Sandbar on Greene Street.
