Skater To Exhibit At Big Boys Toys Show In Las Vegas

With the 2021 Miami International Boat Show scrubbed, the decision-makers at Skater Powerboats have been looking for alternative showcases this year. To that end, the Douglas, Mich., high-performance catamaran builder is planning to test the waters of the Big Boys Toys Innovation and Lifestyle Exhibit, June 25-27, at World Market Center in Las Vegas.

Whether Skater displays a 438 (above) or 368 catamaran at the Big Boys Toys event, it’s sure to attract an appreciative crowd at the high-end luxury products show. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

“We have a spot for one of our boats—and we’re not 100-percent sure what we’re bringing just yet though we have good idea—on a trailer,” said Tony Cutsuries, the company’s national sales manager. “Mostly likely it will be either a new 438 or a new 368.

“Pete (Hledin, the founder and owner of Skater Powerboats) thinks it’s an interesting idea so we’ll give it a try,” he added.

Cancelled in 2020 courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event made its United States debut in Las Vegas in 2019. For the nine years prior, the show was based in United Arab Emirates. The exhibition features a wild and diverse selection of luxury products from aircraft and personal submarines to collectible timepieces and fine art.

“It’s not really a ‘boat show’ but it does have all kinds of high-end stuff like exotic cars and watches,” Cutsuries said. “So we’ll see how it goes.”

The Big Boys Toys showcase is one of two West Coast events Skater is committed to supporting this year. The company also plans to exhibit at the Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party, Thursday, April 22, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
