Waves And Wheels Rocks IBEX With Customized 33-Foot PlayCraft

To help promote its two-decade-old custom audio and interior installation business and the latest products from the high-end line of audio components it introduced a couple of years ago, the Osage Beach, Mo.-based team at Waves and Wheels and Bluave Marine Audio brought its latest demo boat—a 33-foot PlayCraft Boats Xtreme pontoon powered by twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines—to Tampa, Fla., this week for the International BoatBuilder’s Exhibition & Conference, aka IBEX.

And according to Justin Wagner and Noah Estes, who hauled the boat and the Waves and Wheels trailer to Florida (and back already—they got back late Friday night), the show was an absolute success.

“Overall it was incredible—it was the most successful trade show I’ve ever attended in 20 years of being in the business,” a weary but energized Wagner expressed via text on Friday night.

Estes said the show—especially the response to the boat—was awesome.

“We’re pretty proud of how the PlayCraft turned out,” Estes said. “Everybody stopped by to check out the boat. We had the 10-foot by 10-foot booth inside and I just hung out with the boat outside all day and jammed out. We had the cops hanging out with us a few times—they loved it. We made a ton of great contacts, too.”

Of course the PlayCraft, which included custom rear lounges fabricated by Waves and Wheels, had a massive Bluave system. According to Wagner, the lounges feature eight Bluave MS-E 10 subwoofers powered by a pair of B1000.1 amplifiers, a pair of EM9.0 speakers from the new Bluave Elite Marine series line and a couple of M9.0 coaxial speakers. In the bow, Waves and Wheels installed four pairs of M9.0s and a a pair of EM 2.0s, and in the tower a set of EM T91 speaker pods and a set of T91 pods were utilized.

Estes and Wagner both thanked the Bluave Marine Audio representatives who traveled to Florida to assist with the booth, including Nick Cambron of Sick Speed Marine Electronics in Kentucky, Florida rep Scott Campbell, Dale Jackson of Twin Lakes Audio in Kentucky, and Bob Sihler, a longtime Waves and Wheels colleague and dealer of RS Concepts.

“We had a fleet,” Wagner said. “It was awesome having so much support. We couldn’t have done it with out them.”
