Busy Shootout Week Ahead For Wagner Insurance Agency

The speedonthewater.com team excluded, there’s a long list of people I do not envy this week because of their busy schedule for this week’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri. I can’t imagine how busy the Performance Boat Center crew is as well as the teams at Waves and Wheels, Big Thunder Marine, Camden on the Lake Resort and other waterfront establishments and marinas. There’s also a legion of volunteers who make the event run smoothly that has a jam-packed week ahead.

The WIA Marine Insurance group is definitely on that list with everything owner Chris Wagner, whose insurance agency has been a Shootout sponsor for more than a decade, said he has going on starting on Tuesday night with the Shootout’s Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame dinner celebration at The Stables at Cannon Smoked Saloon.

“We’re excited to be a sponsor of all things Shootout again,” Wagner said, adding that WIA is yet again the official sponsor of the FASS Diesel Fuel Systems start boat for the top-speed runs on Saturday and Sunday. “The event means so much to this community and we’re honored to be a part of it. Normally this is our busiest week of the year. The Shootout gives us the chance to solidify relationships with our customers who live all over the country and may or may not boat at the lake. We don’t get to see a lot of our clients face to face usually so this is the best way to do that.

“Obviously we focus on laying the foundation for future business as well,” he added. “We insure a lot of things, not just boat stuff through Farmers, so we can bundle insurance for auto, home, business, etc. The Shootout gives us a good opportunity to talk to people about all of that.”

Wagner and his team plan to have a strong presence at the Wednesday evening Shootout On The Strip on Bagnell Dam Boulevard, which is presented by Waves and Wheels and Bluave Marine Audio. The CR Racing team’s 32-foot canopied Doug Wright raceboat is going to be the anchor of the WIA Marine Insurance display this year along with a couple of other WIA customer boats.

WIA also is going to have a display at Camden on the Lake Resort during the later-in-the-week Super Cat Fest gatherings for anyone wanting to ask Wagner or WIA’s all-star agent, Christy Wright, any questions.
