Stephen Miles Design Handling First Nor-Tech Paintjobs

A couple of Nor-Tech 450 Sport center consoles soon will be dressed in paintjobs from Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro. While Stephen Miles and his crew have painted several center consoles from Deep Impact and Mystic Powerboats, the 45-footers will be the first from Nor-Tech, which is based in Fort Myers, Fla.

Soon to be dressed in graphics by Stephen Miles design, this Nor-Tech 450 Sport CC was ordered by Michigan’s Todd Chartier through Michael Knoblock at American Custom Marine.

The first boat already is in the process of being dressed in its new graphics. The second boat is schedule to arrive at Miles’ shop within the next two weeks. The boats were ordered through American Custom Marine in Kimball, Mich., and Midwest Boating Center in Osage Beach, Mo.

“As anybody who knows me will tell you, I have an undying love and immense gratitude for Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats and the entire Outerlimits family,” said Miles, who recently painted his first MTIa 340X sport catamaran—for his longtime friends Burton and Yvette Kirsten, to match Jet, their 46-foot Outerlimits catamaran. “But it’s also no secret that I just love boats in general. So the opportunity to put the SMD spin on a brand new Nor-Tech canvas is very exciting.

David Sinacola of Texas ordered his soon-to-painted 45-footer from Randy Kent at Midwest Boating Center.

Miles, who is co-producing next the June 21-22 Kuttawa Canonball Run in Kentucky with his friend and customer Jeff Hoefling, has been working six days a week since the beginning of this year to keep up with demand for his services. In late 2018, he completed the paintwork for the spectacular Crypto Outerlimits SV 43 V-bottom. Decked out in a Stephen Miles Design paintjob, the aforementioned Jet Outerlimits cat debuted in February at the Miami International Boat Show.

And he hasn’t only been painting new, big-dollar boats of late.

“We are currently finishing up a 30 foot Spectre cat restoration,” he said. “That’s for my good buddy Lee Murray of Murray Marine in Key West (Fla.).”
