Mauff Guarantees Good Time At International Snowmobile Rally

At the end of January, several dozen performance boat enthusiasts from across the United States and other countries are going to assemble in Saratoga, Wyo., for several days of speed on the frozen water during the seventh annual International Snowmobile Rally hosted by Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Dr. Michael “Doc” Janssen, the former offshore racing world champion and highly respected spinal surgeon from Colorado.

And according to Janssen, there’s still space available to book a room at his resort and sign up for the festivities, which take place January 28-31 and include a few days of snowmobiling, nightly theme parties, soaking in the natural mineral hot springs, sampling craft beer from the in-house Snowy Mountain Brewery and more. Janssen, who owns a canopied SV 53 from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats, said he and his team are excited about the 2021 International Snowmobile Rally and happy to answer any questions from interested participants.

“The International Snowmobile Rally is an event that we look forward to each year,” said Cheena Parsons, assistant general manager and sales director of Saratoga Hot Springs Resort. “It has become a tradition and we love hosting it here in Saratoga. It gives us the opportunity to show a great group of outdoor and speed-loving enthusiasts our little slice of paradise. People are amazed by the mountain views, terrain and being able to relax in the hot springs after a day of riding.”

Janssen’s friend and fellow world champion offshore racer—New York’s Billy Mauff (pictured below with California native and two-time International Snowmobile Rally participant Mandy Dominguez—said he guarantees anyone who comes to the event will have a positive experience.

“I’ve been going every year for a few years now, and for me it’s one of the craziest, most fun events I’ve ever participated in,” said Mauff, who owns and drives the WHM Motorsports Skater Powerboats catamaran. “I love it so much at Doc’s place that I bought three sleds to keep in Wyoming so I can go there and a ride anytime I want—whether Doc wants me there or not. The conditions in the Snowy Range are amazing. I’ve never been in powder like it before. I’ve been snowmobiling all my life and the riding in Wyoming is unlike anywhere else in the country.

“Here’s the bottom line: if you sign up, come to Saratoga and don’t have a good time—and I didn’t make sure you have a good time—I’ll pay for your trip,” he continued. “Between me and Doc, who goes out of his way to make sure everyone has a good time, you may even have the best time of your life. They don’t make people like Doc anymore. He’s a great guy and the whole event is sensational.”
