New Video: In The Lead With DCB’s Tony Chiaramonte Now Live

It’s been more than six years since I wrote a story called “The Art Of Delivery By DCB’s Tony Chiaramonte,” which took a closer look at how the company’s primary customer service representative had perfected the way he helped owners get to know their new boats. It wasn’t his only job at DCB at the time—nor is it still—but the challenge remains to find someone in the business who does it better.

That story from June 2015 was before the Southern California custom boat builder introduced its outboard-specific M33R and M37R Widebody models. It also was before Chiaramonte and his two good friends and longtime colleagues, Jeff Johnston and Paul Miller, purchased an ownership stake in the company. And here it is 77 months later and Chiaramonte—the company’s vice president of sales and customer service—is the sixth person featured in the new-for-2021 Speed On The Water “In The Lead” video series presented by Mercury Racing, MYCO Trailers and Hamilton Marine Finance. (If you’ve missed any of the previous videos you can watch them all here).

From running parts and rigging boats in the mid-1990s and 2000s to becoming a lead salesperson and a multi-time Lake of the Ozarks Shootout champion in many a DCB M35 Widebody catamaran models at 150-plus mph, Chiaramonte is one of the most respected individuals in the high-performance boating community—and not just on the West Coast, where DCB has taken root for the past few decades.

It wasn’t easy to decide who at DCB should get the spotlight because the company truly embodies the team mentality—as you’ll see in this episode of In The Lead—but no one can deny that the face of DCB is Chiaramonte. Not only does he live and breathe DCB’s attention to detail approach, the 51-year-old helps keep clients’ boats clean at the docks during events such as Super Cat Fest on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks or the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and he’s usually a customer’s first phone call if they need anything.

I invite you to join the Speed On The Water team to get a glimpse at what goes into bringing a one-of-a-kind DCB to life and how the company continues to set the industry standards for rigging, gelcoat graphics, fit and finish, and more. You can truly see how DCB’s team player approach starts at the top with himself and his business partners, Rob Blair, Johnston and Miller, and trickles down to every employee in the company that’s been around for more than three decades.
