Gallery Of The Week: Deep Impact’s Dazzling New 399

Last month, Ron McLean and the production team at Deep Impact Custom Boats in Miami wrapped up the company’s latest 399 Sport performance center console—a gorgeous white, red and black edition powered by quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines. The 39-footer, which was finished just in time for Deep Impact owners Mark and Eileen Fischer to run it in the Florida Powerboat Club’s Emerald Coast Powerboat Poker Run, was captured in a photo shoot by Deep Impact a few weeks back in anticipation of some upcoming boat show close-ups and demo rides.

The new quad-engine 399 Sport currently serves as the company’s spec boat for upcoming boat shows, including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Oct. 3-Nov. 3) and the Key West Poker Run (Nov. 6-11). McLean said the boat, which includes two well-appointed rows of three flip-up seats aft the center console that is highlighted by twin 17-inch Garmin GPS displays, was designed to be simple yet attractive. And based on the graphics, the finely crafted interior, the hardtop, the SeaDek flooring and the LED in the boat and underneath it, the boat is definitely good-looking.

According to McLean, the company is wrapping up an incredible new model for the Fort Lauderdale show that’s going to feature grey gelcoat with bright blue accents and, of course, four of Mercury Racing’s hot new 450R outboard engines. If it’s anything like the latest 399, and it sounds like it could be even better, it’s deserving of an in-depth in-person inspection. Maybe even a ride in Key West when the Deep Impact owners get together for lunch? Hint hint.
