Boyne Thunder Sponsorship Commitments Approaching $200,000

Set to close Friday, February 11, sponsor registration for the 19th annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Boyne City, Mich., has been strong. According to Ingrid Day, the events coordinator for the July 8-9 happening, more than $190,000 has come in so far—with almost a week to go.

“Our sponsors have really stepped up this year,” she said. “We are so excited to already have more than 40 sponsors including so many valuable returning sponsors as well as several new ones.”

The Boyne Thunder Poker Run raises money for local charities including Camp Quality Michigan—a camp for children with cancer—and Challenge Mountain, which offers outdoor recreation programs for children with physical and mental challenges. The event also is partnered with the Boyne City Main Street Program, which is a “grassroots, volunteer-driven program dedicated to the historic preservation and economic development of Boyne City’s downtown.”

“We are grateful for the commitment of our sponsors to the purposes of this event,” said Day. “The Boyne Thunder Event Committee is hard at work planning for our July event and we can’t wait to share the crystal clear water of Lake Charlevoix with our participants this year.”

General registration for the 2022 Boyne Thunder Poker run opens March 1 at 9 a.m.
