Nor-Tech Spearheads Salvation Army Tree Angel Effort With DCB And Mystic

For the third year in a row, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats of Fort Myers, Fla., has made Christmas a little better for children in need through the Salvation Army’s Tree Angel gift collection and delivery program. The Nor-Tech team, which included staff members, dealers and customers, collected 30 gifts that will be distributed to children in the Fort Myers area community.

Thanks to Nor-Tech (above), DCB Performance Boats and Mystic Powerboats, children in need will have Christmas presents this year.

“Every child should experience Christmas,” said Henrik Margård, the high-performance center console, V-bottom sportboat and catamaran company. “The whole Nor-Tech family joined in and went shipping for all the gifts.

“This was our third year participating and it warms our hearts to know that more kids will get a visit from ‘Santa,'” he added.

To help share the spirit of giving with its industry peers, Nor-Tech reached out to several high-performance powerboat builders. Southern California-based DCB Performance Boats and Florida’s Mystic Powerboats answered the call with toy collections of their own. Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB, said the company donated $500 in presents to its local Salvation Army Angel Tree program, while Mystic’s toy-collection effort is ongoing.

“We are gathering presents now,” said John Cosker, the owner and founder of Mystic. “We had Toys Tour last weekend, so we took a load of toys up there. We’re have our company Christmas party next week so we will have all our presents for the Angel Tree program then.”

For Nor-Tech, the toy drive was the final effort in its 30th anniversary “year of giving.” Every month this year, the company has backed/supported a local charity or produced a philanthropic effort of its own for the Southwest Florida community.

Said Margård of the company’s most recent charitable effort, “It is such a rewarding exercise and giving back is crucial to the survival of these organizations.”
